More and more talented artists worldwide share their skills through online platforms. This opens up a world of opportunities to the aspiring or more experienced artists.
You can for instance join your favorite artists’ lessons for several weeks, while painting along. Afterwards, the artist can comment your work and give you individual tips. It is even okay to miss one of the live sessions, because all 
participants will receive the recordings to which you have access for about 3 months after the sessions.
Another form of learning is by watching a two-hour demo and interact by asking questions. All this without leaving the comfort of your home studio.
I have taken some of these lessons and watched demos of my favorite artists online and I must say it’s a great way to learn, discover and be inspired. Each artist has his or her own approach and even small tips they share can be a real eye opener. Although online, it feels like a real class. And it is just so much fun to work with and get to know some of the artists whose work you’ve admired for a long time.
One of the artists who show and sell their work in our gallery is Antonin Passemard, a quite well known plein-air landscape and still life painter from Burgundy, France. Antonin, who speaks very good English, will be giving a series of online lessons at Penn Studio School of Art starting December 4.

J’ai suivi certaines de ces leçons et regardé des démos de mes artistes préférés en ligne et je dois dire que c’est une excellente façon d’apprendre, de découvrir et d’être inspiré. Chaque artiste a sa propre approche et même les petites astuces qu’ils partagent peuvent être une véritable révélation. Bien qu’en ligne, on a l’impression d’assister à un vrai cours. Et c’est tellement agréable de travailler avec des artistes dont on admire le travail depuis longtemps et d’apprendre à les connaître.
