Marc Dailly (Genève, 1978)
Le peintre Marc Dailly a étudie à l’école Emile Cohl à Lyon, où il obtient son diplôme d’illustrateur en 2004. Déjà pendant ses études, il vire vers sa première passion : la peinture, et notamment la peinture à l’huile. Il trouve son inspiration dans l’art des 19ème et 20ème siècles, du réalisme de l’école russe aux Nabis. C’est pourquoi ses premiers tableaux sont figuratifs et très classiques. Chaque année il expose dans diverses galeries en France, en Suisse et en Allemagne. CE sont les expositions qui lui poussent vers la productivité.
Libérer la technique
C’est en s’intéressant de plus près à la peinture figurative contemporaine que Marc Dailly arrive à libérer sa technique.
« Je ne veux plus trop contrôler ma peinture, je préfère laisser libre cours à mon inconscient, qui saura sans doute raconter des histoires bien mieux que moi », il dit, créant des tableaux de scènes de vie tout à fait ordinaires, mais avec un grand intimité et un style de plus en plus mature et libre.
La vraie ‘découverte’ de Marc Dailly se fait lors d’une exposition collective organisée par la galerie Chantal et Patrick Pons. C’est Gérard Gamand, directeur du magazine Azart qui tombe sous le charme des œuvres de Marc et qui lui consacre 9 pages dans le numéro de juillet-août 2009.
Durant les années 2010, 2011 et 2012, le peintre semble se développer encore davantage. Il est très productif et continue à exposer à Genève, à Lyon et à Paris.
Maintenant, Marc Dailly est peintre à temps plein. Il expose dans des galeries à Paris, New York, Lyon et – bien sûr – à la Galerie Nakai à Tournus.

Marc Dailly studied at the Emile Cohl school in Lyon, where he graduated as an illustrator in 2004. Already during his studies, he turned to his first passion: painting, especially oil painting. He finds his inspiration in the art of the 19th and 20th centuries, from the realism of the Russian school to the Nabis. This is why his first paintings are figurative and very classical. Freeing his technique
It is by taking a closer look at contemporary figurative painting that Marc Dailly manages to free his technique.
« I don’t want to control my painting too much anymore, I prefer to let my unconscious run free, which will undoubtedly be able to tell stories much better than I can », he says, creating paintings of quite ordinary scenes of life, but with a great intimacy and an increasingly mature and free style.
Marc Dailly’s real ‘discovery’ came at a group exhibition organised by the Chantal and Patrick Pons gallery. It was Gérard Gamand, director of Azart magazine, who fell under the spell of Marc’s work and devoted 9 pages to him in the July-August 2009 issue.
During the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, the painter seems to develop even more. He is very productive and continues to exhibit in Geneva, Lyon and Paris.
Now Marc Dailly is a full-time painter. He exhibits in galleries in Paris, New York, Lyon and – of course – at the Galerie Nakai in Tournus, where you can find his own Marc Dailly online shop.

Bevrijding van zijn techniek
Het is door zich te verdiepen in de hedendaagse figuratieve schilderkunst dat Marc Dailly erin slaagt zijn techniek te bevrijden.
« Ik wil mijn schilderen niet meer te veel controleren, ik laat liever mijn onbewuste de vrije loop, dat ongetwijfeld veel beter in staat zal zijn verhalen te vertellen dan ik dat kan », zegt hij. Hij creëert schilderijen van heel gewone levenstaferelen, maar met een grote intimiteit en een steeds rijpere en vrijere stijl.
De echte ‘ontdekking’ van Marc Dailly vond plaats op een groepstentoonstelling van de galerie Chantal en Patrick Pons. Het was Gérard Gamand, directeur van het tijdschrift Azart, die in de ban raakte van Marc’s werk en 9 pagina’s aan hem wijdde in het nummer juli-augustus 2009.
In de jaren 2010, 2011 en 2012 lijkt de schilder zich nog meer te ontwikkelen. Hij is zeer productief en blijft exposeren in Genève, Lyon en Parijs.
Nu is Marc Dailly een fulltime schilder. Hij exposeert in galeries in Parijs, New York, Lyon en – natuurlijk – in de Galerie Nakai in Tournus, waar u ook zijn eigen Marc Dailly online shop kunt vinden.
