Vernissage – Friday, april 7, from 7 PM
For the first exhibition in our second season we are inviting you on a voyage. Your guides will be two very original and talented artists. Galerie Nakaï presents:
Jeane Seah
The versatile and productive artist Jean Seah presents a small selection from her enormous collection of bronze statuettes and organic jewellery. Each work tells us something about her life in many exotic countries, her motherhood, her work as a model for photographers and as the principal muse of the well-know Dutch painter Nico Vrielink. Her jewellery especially incorporate elements with a story. Like the tooth of a beloved pet, or a big drifting seed found on a beach in Bali. During the vernissage Jeane will be happy to tell you all about her work.

Jay Henry Kester
The American James (Jay or J.) Henry Kester shows his unique ‘boxes’ with scenes from his own rich life experience. Each box is like a theatrical and personal travelog, and the story often plays in the gay scene. From the strange class mate that loved nothing more than dancing in a ballet tutu to the wild stories of a friend, sadly taken by aids, who had a predilection for cooking, saunas and spanking… it all passes in the smartly decorated boxed scenes. Jay Henry, as well, will gladly explain his work during the vernissage.
More on J.Henry in this short documentary by Jim Burge.
